Tickets and other info:

 

-The house will be open beginning Sunday, September 30th and run every Fri, Sat & Sun through October.

-Tickets are only $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Children 4 and under are free. After receiving your first ticket, reentry tickets to enter are only $1!!!

-The house is located at 134 Main St., Beacon, NY. For directions, look below.

-A portion of all proceeds go to fund more and better holiday decorations for Beacon!

Story of the Beacon Screamery

The "Beacon Screamery" as it is known today was very different many years ago. At the beginning it was known as the Beacon Asylum. For many years, the Asylum was the home to many "famous" mad men. Probably most famous were 2 men known as "The Doc" and Edwin "Sam I Am" The Butcher. Soon after these men were admitted into the hospital, strange things began to be reported by the night watch men and also by many passersby's on Main St. Mainly, many would report loud screaming in the middle of the night (hence the nickname "Beacon Screamery"). After years of operation, the establishment was closed do to the many reports of strange happenings and reports of patients getting out of control and actually taking over the operations of the Asylum. On the last night before officially closing, there were rumors of a security guard who was murdered on is final shift. Unfortunately, before the reports made it police, the building had been demolished to the ground. Many say, it was demolished so quickly to rid the area of the evil that was thought to lurk in the Asylum's halls. Recently, while excavating the ruins of what is left of the 1st floor of the building, these security tapes were found:
